The origin of Route 75 Imprints dates back three generations to 1966 when my Grandfather started Tri-County Metal Photo in North Collins, NY. My father joined him, and their company produced metalphoto products which is a photosensitive, anodized aluminum used to make durable, high-resolution plates. Badges, tags, equipment instruction panels, awards, plaques, newspaper articles and photo reproductions were a few of the many items in the product line. Tri-County Metal Photo was also a company which provided chemical milling to make products such as instrument panels for aerospace, circuit boards, and other precision metal parts and components.
In 1979 my father branched out on his own to start The Glass Printer, Inc. and subsequently a division called Mr. Mugs and Awards. Initially offering custom printed glassware and ceramicware, he eventually added photographically produced metal photo and full color award plaques. Mr. Mugs and Awards grew to encompass a broader spectrum of unique services to include sand etching, laser engraving, scratch engraving, screen and pad printing and sublimation. This expansion increased their ability to create custom products such as glassware, trophies, metal photo plaques, medals, full color awards, nameplates, tags, pins, promotional items and novelty gifts. As with most family businesses, throughout my lifetime I have worked part-time in the company by lending a helping hand where and when I could, even as a young boy. Then, in 2006, when The Glass Printer, Inc. relocated to Hamburg NY, I decided to officially join the family business and became a full-time employee.
During my time with Mr. Mugs and Awards customers were frequently requesting custom apparel which we did not have the ability to produce. To service our customers we outsourced the apparel so we could meet their needs. Then in 2011, with entrepreneurship in my blood, I made the decision to purchase new equipment and start my own apparel business called Strictly T’s Inc., which has always been housed in the same building as Mr. Mugs and Awards. The company initially offered custom screen-printed t-shirts, hooded sweatshirts, and polos but has since grown to encompass a broader spectrum of products and services to include embroidery, heat transfer, dye sublimation, sand etching, laser engraving and screen printing on several different types of products. In addition, we expanded our product line to include online corporate apparel web stores and fundraising web store programs. Since we produce more items than simply t-shirts we thought our name should reflect all the elements we imprint. Route 75 Imprints is now a division of Strictly T’s Inc.
